Voyages/Discoveries:

1st Voyage-1535: Fransico sailed to the New World and settled in Mexico City.

 

2nd Voyage-1540:The Seven Cities Of Cibola had reports of treasures.  Soon Coronado heard and he started an expedition of nearly 1000 men to Southwestern United States and Texas.  After months of searching, there was no trace of treasure so most of his crew went home.  Coronado did not want to give up so he took a smaller force to continue the search.  They returned to Mexico City, with no gold, in spring of 1542.

Interesting Facts:

In 1538 Francisco Coronado was governor of the Province Of Nueva Galacia.  He was also City Councilman in Mexico City and he was in that position until September 22,1554 when he died.  Also, on his first voyage to Mexico City, where he spent most of his life, he  got married and started a family there.
